Status of fires that have been identified for mapping under the Forest Service RAVG program.

Complete (published) Recently added to this website (available from the "Data Access" page).
Contained (monitoring imagery) Fires are typically mapped within 45 days after containment; however, under certain conditions, they may not be mapped until the following peak of greenness (see "Postpone to peak of green" section). Use the Contact Us page if products are needed urgently. The following fires are being assessed for RAVG mapping: Bee Rock Creek (NC), Big Ridge (GA), Black Swamp (NC), Blue Stem (MS), Greene - Turner Rd (MS), Haoe Lead (NC), Herring (MS), Hilliardville (FL), Loran (LA), Lost Creek (FL), Patterson (MS), Rattlesnake Branch (NC), Tango Forty Four (MS)
Waiting for containment These fires have an expected containment date sometime in the future. Use the Contact Us page if products are needed urgently or if the fire is actually contained. None
Postpone to peak of green Fires that will be mapped near the peak of green (i.e., summer) of the following year due to issues with imagery (snow, clouds, terrain shadows) or deciduous leaf fall. Use the Contact Us page for access to preliminary datasets (where available).
