How to submit a Burned Area Reflectance Classification (BARC):
To make a request, please use the link below. If not registered already, you will need to do so. In order to efficiently create your request, please have the following information at the ready:
- Fire name and location (lat/long)
- BAER team leader and contact information
- BAER team start date
- Any special instructions
Once submitted, you will receive an email notification that your request is being processed. Typically, GTAC supports requests for U.S. Forest Service BAER teams and EROS provides support for Department of Interior teams responding to fires on lands managed by DOI agencies (BLM, FWS, NPS, BIA). Imagery and BARC support for fires where a USFS or DOI BAER team is not deployed are considered on a case by case basis and may require reimbursement for provided services and products. Please contact the USFS or DOI BAER imagery support lead for further information. Otherwise, the USFS and DOI collaborate to provide additional post-fire mapping and assessment services and products that may meet your needs and are available.
